Tuscan Villa Cooking Class #12

Spend a wonderful day in a beautiful villa in the countryside learning about the regional cuisine of Tuscany. The cooking school is one of Italy's oldest, and the villa, a former Abbey, is almost 1000 years old.
The chef teaches with a hand’s on approach to prepare a full menu, including bread, a “primo” (first course of either pasta, rice, soup or gnocchi) a “secondo” ( a meat or fish dish with accompanying seasonal vegetables), and a dessert.

Guests arrive at 9:45 to start class at 10 am. Everyone works together with your teacher to prepare the daily lunch while discovering the secrets of traditions spanning centuries.

After the 2.5 hr hour cooking lesson, an aperitif is served in the 16th century frescoed refectory where guests learn of the fascinating history of the abbey and winery. Your sumptuous lunch that you have prepared is then served in the private dining room of the villa adjacent to the kitchen.

The meal is accompanied by a selection of wines and extra virgin olive oil from the family’s cellar that will compliment the food.

After coffee and grappa, a guided tour of the historical ageing cellars and the magnificent formal gardens is included before guests' departure by 4 pm.

Individuals or small groups are welcome on Wed and Fri by appointment from May to Oct, whereas on other days of the week it is possible to organise a private cooking lesson for pre- formed groups of minimum 6 participants and maximum of 14 from March to Nov.

Included: cooking lesson, aperitif, lunch, wines, guided visits of the cellars, recipes, certificate of participation and a small gift.
